Lions With Strong Showing at Bulldog Open

BIRMINGHAM, AL- The Emmanuel College Women's and Men's Track and Field teams ventured on in their indoor season by traveling to the CrossPlex facility in Birmingham, Alabama, where they competed in the Bulldog Open. While no team score was recorded, many athletes had a great performance. 
 
Jharna Alstonsenior, finished third overall in the 60m dash with a time of 7.64. 
 
Clara Heisssenior, finished 9th in Women's Pole Vault recording a jump of 3.40m. 
 
Jason Burkejunior, finished 7th in Men's High Jump recording a jump of 1.95 meters. Burke ran the 200m Dash with a time of 25.03. Kristian Carrs also competed in the 200m dash, recording a time of 24.16. 
 
Moena Battle, senior, finished third overall in Women's High Jump , recording a jump of 1.71 meters. Battle also competed in the Women's long jump, recording a jump of 5.14 meters, leaving her with a 21st place finish. 
 
Kevin Wood IIsophomore, competed in the Men's Long Jump, finishing with a 6.69 meter jump, placing him 12th overall. Kristian Carrs, Sulaimane Banguraand Jason Burke also competed in this event. Carrs finished 22nd with a jump of 6.23m, Bangura finished 32nd with a jump of 5.85m, and Burke finished 37th with a jump of 5.63m. 
 
Tucker Flint, sophomore, finished fifth overall at the Bulldog open recording a jump 4.42 meters. 
 
Josiah Campbellsenior, Ahmad Perrymanjunior, Blake Walkersophomore, and Sulaimane Bangurasenior, competed in the Men's 4x400 Meter Relay, finishing 4th overall with a time of 3:20.34. 
 
These Lions hope to carry out their indoor season strong as they travel to Winston-Salem, NC on February 20-21, where they will compete in the Conference Carolinas Indoor Championships.
