Track and Field Results From the Flames Invitational

CLEVELAND, TN - The Emmanuel College Men's and Women's Track and Field teams traveled to Cleveland, TN, to compete in the Flames Invitational on April 7-9. Both teams earned top-20 finishes, with the Men's team finishing in 15th and the Women's team finishing in 17th
 
The Men's team earned the overall 15 spot with a total of 21 points. 
 
Sulaimane Bangura earned a podium spot in the Men's 400 Dash, finishing 2nd with an overall time of 48.12. Bangura also finished 6th in the Men's 200 Dash with an official 21.70 finish. 
 
The Men's team took 8th overall in the Men's 4x100 Meter Relay. The team made up of Jaylin Holiday, Blake Walker, Josiah Campbell, and Sulaimane Bangura finished with an official time of 42.43. 
 
Blake Walker finished 18th in the Men's 100 Dash with an official 11.17 finish. 
 
Brandon Martin finished 13th overall in the Men's 5000 with an official 14:28.84 finish. 
 
Kevin Wood took a podium spot in the Men's Long Jump, finishing 2nd with an official mark of 6.92 meters. In the same event, Jason Burke finished 11th with a mark of 6.47 meters. 
 
Jason Burke finished 8th in the Men's High Jump with an official mark of 1.88 meters. 
 
Cadyn Huddleston finished 18th overall in the Men's Javelin Throw with a throw of 29.47 meters. 

 
The Women's team earned the overall 17 spot with a total of 22 points. 
 
Jharna Alston was the overall winner in the Women's 100 Dash, earning a 1st place finish with a 11.97 finish. Alston also finished 2nd in the Women's 200 Dash with an official finish of 24.72. 
 
Emmanuel took 5th in the Women's 4x100 Meter Relay. The team of Julia Styrmisdottir, Moena Battle, Samantha Dibene, and Jharna Alston finished with an official time of 49.30.  
 
Madelyn Bright finished 12th in the Women's High Jump with an official mark of 1.50 meters. Bright also finished 15th in the Women's Long Jump with an official mark of 4.62 meters. 
 
Sydney Bridges finished 14th in the Women's Javelin Throw with a throw of 19.02 meters. In the same event, Elaina Silcox finished 15th overall with a throw of 17.11 meters. 
 
As the Track and Field teams approach the end of their outdoor season, they hope to continue their strong performance from this weekend as they compete for the Conference Carolinas championship in 3 weeks on April 20-30.
