Winston-Salem, NC – The Emmanuel Women's Track & Field team competed in the Early Bird Invitational on Saturday, hosted at the JDL Fast Track. The Lions performed well, with several top 10 finishes. 

HIGHLIGHTS

Sophomore, Jai Piazza led the way for the Lions with a 2nd place finish in the 200M race with a time of 26.15. Senior, Ashley Williams performed well again, finishing 9th in the 400 with a time of 1:06.22. The 4x400 relay team made up of Piazza, Williams, Morgan Hall and Jayda Spikes finished 5th with a time of 4:20.71.

In the field events, Piazza finished 3rd in the long jump, with a 5.75m jump. In the triple jump, the Lions had two top 10 finishers in Rayven Thurston and Valasha Carter. Thurston finished 7th with a jump of 10.59m and Carter finished 9th with a jump of 10.45m. 

The Lions will be back in action on Saturday, January 18 at JDL Fast Track for the Mondo College Invitational.
