- At the foul line, Abby Crawford led the way shooting 85%.
We caught up with Coach
Mike Bona who shared a few of his favorite memories of the season!
- What were a few highlights from your season?
A few highlights from our season included winning nine out of ten conference games in late January and February heading to the conference tournament and senior,
Abby Crawford getting her 1000 point and getting selected to the All-Conference Team. Head Coach Mike
Bona also picked up his 800th win of his career against Mount Olive on December 17, with all of his wins coming as coach of the Lions.
- What was your favorite memory of the season?
My favorite memory of the season was Senior Night and getting the opportunity to honor our 6 seniors and all they have done for our university and basketball program these past four years. I would also say the perseverance that this team showed continuing to stay together throughout the adversity we faced early in the season
- Was there a point in the season where things "clicked" for the team?
We lost 5 players before we started the season. After that things didn't start clicking until we came back after Christmas. It took our younger players a semester to realize what it was like playing college basketball and that plus the veteran players on our team really stepped up to the challenge. It really began to become a lot of fun playing together at the end of the year.
- What are you looking forward to next season?
We have a great group of young and talented players returning that are hungry to be successful and want to win. We also have a great squad of new players coming in who we think will be able to make an immediate impact on our team moving forward. Go Lady Lions.
Congratulations, Lady Lions on a great year!
