Box Score Franklin Springs, Ga – The Emmanuel Men's Lacrosse team hosted Saint Leo University today in non-conference action. The Lions scored the first goal of the contest, but Saint Leo would answer back and control the game the rest of the way, winning 20-3. With the loss, the Lions fall to 0-8 on the season.
In the first period, Emmanuel's
John Allen scored with 9:03 remaining in the first to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. The Saint Leo Lions would answer back a minute later to tie things up at 1-1 then would go onto score four more goals in the first, to take a 5-1 lead after the first period.
In the second period, Saint Leo would open up their lead, scoring 10 goals in the period to take a 15-1 advantage into the third.
In the third, Saint Leo would add five more goals onto their lead to take a 20-1 lead heading into the 4
th period.
The Lions got back on the board in the fourth period with a goal by
Jared Weiss assisted by
Kaden Flett with 8:05 to play in the game to make it 20-2.
Kyle Lloyd netted a goal for the Emmanuel Lions with 40 seconds to play in the contest to make the final score 20-3, Saint Leo.
Next up, the Lions will travel to Tigerville, SC to take on North Greenville University on Wednesday at 4PM.
