Box Score ETTRICK, VA – The Emmanuel Men's Lacrosse team continued their spring break road trip to Petersburg, VA to take on the Virginia State University Trojans. The Lions jumped out to a 6-1 lead at the half and poured on 8 goals in the final quarter to take home an 18-3 victory. With the win, the Lions move to 5-3 on the season, which is a program high for wins.
Luke Hildebrandt got the Lions on the board with 11:41 to play in the first quarter to make it 1-0, Lions. At 9:16,
Joshua Fodchuk got in on the action to give the Lions a 2-0 lead to end the first quarter.
Ryland Laturell made it 3-0 early in the 2
nd quarter, assisted by Hildebrandt. Hildebrandt followed that up with a goal with 8:43 to play in the quarter, assisted by
Griffin Gibson-Thomas to make it 4-0. With 5:17 on the clock, Park grabbed his second goal of the day, assisted by Hildebrandt to make it 5-0, Lions. Hildebrandt made it 6-0 with 3:32 to play in the 2
nd, assisted by
David Runchey. The Trojans got on the board with a goal to end the quarter trailing Emmanuel, 6-1.
Everett Muratori opened the third quarter up with a goal to make it 7-1, Lions. Hildebrandt struck again with 5:40 to play, assisted by Fodchuk to give the Lions an 8-1 lead. Less than a minute later, Laturell scored to make it 9-1 and
Jared Weiss closed out the 3
rd with a goal, assisted by Muratori to make it 10-1 heading to the 4
th quarter.
Hildebrandt kept up his career day to start the 4
th quarter off with a goal to give Emmanuel an 11-1 lead. Muratori was next, scoring with 12:16 to play, assisted by Hildebrandt to make it 12-1. Hildebrandt scored the next two to push the Lions lead up to 14-1. The Trojans grabbed the next two goals to cut the Lions lead to 14-3. Weiss made it 15-3 with 4:12 to play, and Hildebrandt scored his career high 8
th goal with 3:29 to go, assisted by Gibson-Thomas to make it 16-3.
Cooper Bringolf got in on the action with 2:15 to play, assisted by Weiss to go up 17-3, and Weiss scored the final goal of the game with 2:00 to play making the final score 18-3, Lions.
Luke Hildebrandt led the way for the Lions with a career high eight goals and three assists.
Jared Weiss contributed 3 goals and an assist.
Grady Magruder ended the day with 12 saves.
