Box Score Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel Men's Lacrosse team hosted Lander University this afternoon in regional action. The Bearcats found the net early in the 1
st quarter, taking a 15-2 lead into the half. Lander controlled the pace of the game the rest of the way to earn the win. With the loss, the Lions fall to 1-5 on the season.
The Bearcats opened the 1
st period on a 3-0 scoring run. The Lions got on the board with 8:03 to play in the first with a goal by
Cole Stachniak, assisted by
Ryland Laturell to make it 3-1, Lander. The Bearcats responded to score three goals to take a 6-1 lead.
Ryley Dowswell cut the Bearcat lead to 6-2 with 1:50 to play in the period but Lander ended the first on a 2-0 scoring run to make it 8-2 after the first.
Lander controlled the pace of play for much of the 2
nd period, outscoring the Lions 7-0 to take a 15-2 lead into the halftime break.
The Bearcats opened the 3
rd period on a 4-0 run to take a 19-2 lead, but the Lions answered. Stachniak scored his 2
nd goal of the night with 4:05 to play in the period, assisted by Laturell to make the score 19-3, Lander and Laturell scored at the 2:22 mark to make it 19-4, Bearcats.
The Bearcats closed out the 4
th period strong to make the final score 25-4.
Cole Stachniak led the Lions in scoring with 2 goals on the night, with
Ryland Laturell picking up 2 assists.
Nick Pilon led the Lions in goal with 26 saves on the night.
Next up, the Lions will host Flagler College on Wednesday, February 25
th at 3PM.
