Box Score Franklin Springs, GA - Emmanuel College (2-9, 1-4) fell to the visiting Mount Olive Trojans (10-5, 4-2) in a Conference Carolinas match up on Saturday. The Trojans dominated the box score early as the Lions struggled to generate offense through the first half. The second half saw a little more life from Emmanuel as they were able to win the fourth quarter. Statistically though, Mount Olive owned nearly all of the team stats except for saves where the EC duo of Blake Duncan (New Westminster, BC) and Alan Troutman (Evans, GA) nearly doubled the number of MOC saves. Mount Olive attackman Jacob Ball led the charge offensively for the Trojans with five goals in the first half.
Emmanuel Sophomore Austin Brundage (Leesburg, VA) continued his streak of scoring two or more points in the last six games with two goals to lead the Lions offense. Senior Blake Duncan led both teams between the pipes with 13 saves in the first half, and freshman Roman Tavani (Suwanee, GA) led the Lions defense with two caused turnovers and two groundballs.
Emmanuel looks to close out their inaugural NCAA DII and Conference Carolinas seasons with a conference match up against North Greenville Tuesday at 4 pm. Before the game, Emmanuel will honor Blake Duncan, the first senior in program history.
