Box Score 2 WEST PALM BEACH, FL. - The Emmanuel College men's lacrosse team lost their battle to Palm Beach Atlantic, 17-14, on Wednesday afternoon. This loss brings the Lions record to 3-5 overall, 1-0 in conference.
FIRST PERIOD
The Lions had a strong showing in the first half after a goal from
Alex Stull started them off on top 1-0. The Sailfish responded with several points of their own, but EC answered for every goal to maintain their lead.
Ethan Perez scored two goals while Justin Parker scored one to keep the Lions ahead 4-3. One final goal came from
Lance Olson at the 35 second mark to further extend Emmanuels lead, 5-3.
SECOND PERIOD
Emmanuel continued their run in the second period, outscoring PBA 5-4 to lead 10-7 at halftime.
Shamaz Durrant,
Matthew Mitchell, Stull, and Olson each recorded goals.
THIRD PERIOD
Palm Beach Atlantic fired back in the third period with their strongest performance thus far, eliminating Emmanuel's lead with 5 goals. The Lions only managed to find the goal two times, once from
Allan Velasquez and once from
Bakari Neely as the teams found themselves tied 12-12.
FOURTH PERIOD
EC was once again outscored 5-2 by the Sailfish. Despite
Ethan Perez scoring his third and fourth goals of the game, the Lions were unable to catch up to the Sailfish, resulting in a 17-14 loss.
